Summary:
The Project "The European Fortress: Deconstructing It" aims to measure the impact of national policies related to immigrants' inclusion at local level, particularly in community groups, by questioning the civil society about the needs, challenges and strategies of young immigrants' social inclusion process in each of the partner countries.
Due to the increasing number of immigrants in the contemporary society, Europe embraces the value of being a privileged platform for social, cultural and political inclusion, abolishing the boundaries between countries and respecting the difference and individuality.
The aim of this activity is to gather four NGOs from Europe, considering 4 different phases:
a) A planning visit, to decide the structure of the local discussion forums and the introduction of good practices, implemented in both for-profit and non-profit institutions in the partner countries, targeted to young immigrants, as well as their achievements in relation to their social inclusion;
b) Local forums, where the groups of each country will discuss the integration policies, at local level, in order to achieve the goals;
c) A seminar, where the results of all local forums will be explained and analyzed by all the participants and where there will be a sharing of all the learning processes;
d) An awareness-raising campaign to be held in the European Parliament with the conclusions of the local forums and the display of the good practices.
After being aware of all relevant information, partners should find an agreement about how it should be compiled and disseminated, hoping that the various results will be translated into solid contributions for the refinement of immigrantion policies, increasingly adjusted to the permanent changes and contours of immigration.
