Romanian organization looking for partners (Measure 2.1) |
|
Romanian Society for Lifelong Learning is looking for NGOs and public authorities to join a project in the field of promoting active interaction and discussion between citizens on matters related to EU policies that affect their daily life.
Interested NGOs and public authorities should be active in the social, cultural and active citizenship field. We are looking for partners based in EU member countries as well as accession countries. Interested NGOs and public authorities should send a presentation of their organization to office@srep.ro by 11th May 2010.
Summary of the project
This project aims at exploring new methodologies capable of promoting active interaction and discussion between citizens on matters related to EU policies that affect their daily life. The citizens in the EU countries, as well as those in accession countries such as Turkey, will be engaged in discussions and events that will allow the promotion of cultural and linguistic diversity, while contributing at the same time to intercultural dialogue, but also in discussions about the European policies and the future of the EU. They will become familiar with key issues regarding the EU policies and will be invited to express their opinions in a fully aware way.
This will be achieved by means of 30 national seminars (6 in each of the 5 partner countries), 1 international conference, 1 intercultural international workshop on EU values and Turkish customs and traditions, 1 international cultural workshop to celebrate the cultures of the partner countries, and 2 national conferences. The seminars and conferences will involve at least 200 citizens out of which at least 40 coming from countries other than the ones hosting the events.
Citizens’ discussions will take source from practical examples as otherwise they cannot take shape or become a practical reality.
The project will involve ordinary citizens from different social, professional and demographic backgrounds.
Special attention will be paid to individual and collective opinion building.
The results of the interactive activities with the citizens (seminars, national and international conferences) will take the form of recommendations for the policy makes at EU level and will be incorporated in the DVD and accompanying booklet that will be produced at the end of the project.
