MEUSAC (Malta – EU Steering and Action Committee) is a Maltese government body entrusted with three main tasks:
- Information on EU Policies and Funding Opportunities,
- Technical assistance to local councils and NGOs on EU Programmes and Funds, and
- Consultation on draft EU legislation and policies.
The consultation process brings together a number of local NGOs and creates a forum for discussion on EU legislative proposals.
We would like to draw your attention to a project which MEUSAC intends to apply for under the “Europe for Citizens Programme”. The aim is to organise a number of workshops and a conference for civil society organisations from various EU Member States whereby organisations can come together and discuss EU policies on themes related to the European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion and on volunteering. The workshops will be held in different EU Member States whilst the final conference will be held in Malta. For further information regarding the project, workshops and conference kindly refer to the attached document “Project Description”.
In order to apply for this project MEUSAC requires the collaboration of 5 partners from other EU member States. Should your organisation wish to partner with MEUSAC on this project kindly send me an email by Tuesday 25th May. You are also kindly requested to fill in the expression of interest and application form (both documents are herewith attached). Kindly note that the partners will be chosen on a first come first served basis depending on the relevance of the NGO’s activities to the themes which will be tackled during the workshops.
