Project description:
E.G.T.C. “Amphictyony” is a network of twinned cities and municipalities from Greece, Cyprus, Italy and France; it functions as a civil society organisation, based in Athens, aiming at the safeguarding of peace, constant development, social justice and environmental protection in the Mediterranean. (Further information on the action of E.G.T.C. Amphictyony can be found at: www.amphictyony.gr). We are currently seeking partners from the countries listed below for a project with the title: “Forum of the Young People of the Mediterranean”, to be submitted at the program “Europe for Citizens, 2007-2013”, measure 2.3 in February 2012. The ideal candidates would be civil society organizations, youth organizations, associations and NGOs activated in the fields which form the core of interests of E.G.T.C. “Amphictyony”. The aim of the “Forum” will be the discussion and promotion of issues which young people in the Mediterranean countries face as serious problems, such as the degradation of the environment, the neglect of the cultural heritage, the employment market, the conflict between south and north in Europe, social equity and justice. After an initial plenary session the Forum will be consisted of smaller working groups according to the thematic entities described above and it will remain active and open to society through a widely advertised electronic forum.
