Summary:
The project "Be a Better Citizen: End This European Struggle. Say No To Domestic Violence!" is a result of our will to understand the running of the support network, involving the victims of domestic violence. Associated to a lot of existing patterns in the modern life (alcoholism, drugs abuse, stress, professional burnout etc.) we watch the growing number of domestic violence cases and we know that many keep being silenced by the fear and pressure, created by the agressor.
As a youth organization, we realize that this phenomenon is growing among young couples and that's why we look for successfully implementing this project.
The aim of this activity is to gather in Lisbon four NGOs from Europe, considering 3 different phases:
a) a planning visit, to decide the organisation of the local forums;
b) local forums, where the teams of each country develop the defined activies, in order to achieve the goals;
c) a final activity, where the results of all local forums are to be explained and analyzed by all the participants.
Considering the purposes of the Europe for Citizens programme, the project coordinator and the staff will make sure that this project will be able to make an appropriated evaluation of how these victims are being supported by the Civil Society Organizations. After being aware of all relevant information, the teams should find an agreement about how it should be compiled, hoping that these documents can contribute to future improvements in the support network and in the prevention of domestic violence, in whole Europe.
